Have you read the new book “French Women Don’t Get Fat”? It’s about the whole way you eat and basically live your life to stay normal and healthy. I’m reading it now and it’s phenomenal !!! Check it out at your local Barnes & Noble!!!
Is that related to the “Smoke Yourself Thin” plan? 😃

Eat Japanese food, its healthy and tastes great. Oh and I’ll add to the theory that many European women are on the “smoke yourself thin” diet!

NOPE. Just a brand new book mostly for women—but I’m sure men could benefit too!!! It’s written by a French woman who has observed the eating habits and general lifestyle of the French vs. the American Way. It’s G R E A T

Is she, this French chick, post-menopausal, constrained from much exercise by physical limitations, and in situations most days of the week where she has to eat food prepared by others? Judging by French restaurants, they don’t gain because portions are so small. Super-size will be the death of America.

I think the bean advice is good, McDougall says “make friends with a bean” although since we have started eating more beans I am becoming digestively challenged.

After I posted my suggestion of beans, I went and made a pot of white bean & vegetable soup, which is very good, but I must say the whole digestion thing can be a problem. I wonder if people of certain ethnic heritage (e.g. Italians) are better able to digest their beans than others where beans are less prevalent in the traditional diet.

YEP. I totally agree with your above statement!!! That’s the KEY people, to good eating, to staying healthy AND to having temperence in our spiritual lives as well, as Catholics, one of the most important virtues.

All the delicious good stuff and more in moderation or small amounts. NO MORE SUPERSIZE nonsense in America. That goes not only for food, but for cars, houses, wardrobes, toys, T.V.'s, everything. We live in a culture of TOO MUCH!!! Sheer gluttony. Does anyone else see this??? What are we willing to do about it???

Having a supersize family helps limit the supersizing of house/car/wardrobe/etc…😃
