What is the best proof there is an afterlife?

I don’t understand why you’d say “there can be no doubt” that a person can be “possessed” by an evil being…when psychiatrists and mental health specialists have *many *possible mental and biochemical explanations for this phenomena.

As many mental health specialists will tell you…if a person is very religious and deeply believes they are possessed, then sometimes the best psychological approach is to go with their belief and “exorcise” them, because that is the only thing that will “convince” them they are not.
But this, too, is based on psychology…not an invasion of evil spirits.

But the point is…to say there is “no doubt”, as the other poster said, that people can be possessed by spirits would be incorrect.
Of course there can be some doubt.
We don’t know the answer of this phenomena for sure, so it can be many things.

I was referring to those who has gone to these mental health specialists and these specialists are not able to help these people. The patient may not even be religious and reluctant to be exorcised as being tagged possessed by evil spirits is not a desired title for many. A fake exorcism may work for some psychologists and obviously those patients will not reach the stage that I was referring to. A non-possessed patient will not differentiate between holy objects and non-holy objects. A simple experiment can quickly determine that. For genuine possessions, reactions to hidden holy objects is very clear.

“An exorcist tells his story” by Fr Gabrielle Amorth and “The Rite” by Matt Baglio would be a good place if you want to know something about exorcism.

Obviously to clear all doubt about the existence of such supernatural stuff, exorcisms would be the place to witness such things. Any determined researcher into such subjects can not ignore the potential of such a process. And there are also many places around the world infamous for the occult, black magic, bomohs and such. They will need to get out of the comfort zone in the lab. But who will fund them for these trials? You can’t make money from these. No ROI. You can’t patent it. Their tech gadgets may not be able to record any of this. Even if you do, skepticism from peers will discouraged many from this path. And seriously, one may put themselves in danger. It is immersing oneself into an environment even though they are skeptical but if proven to be real, too late to undo the exposure if there is danger to body and mind.
