What is the Catholic definition/view of "Social Justice"?

As a newly returning Catholic,I’ve repeatedly encountered the term “Social Justice”. As a cold war veteran, 20 year law enforcement officer, and student of economics, the term social justice is in my bitter experience, just code for “Marxism”.

I understand that Pope Francis is of a very left leaning ideology, but I’ve also discovered that he is probably the most mis-quoted man in all Christendom. I would appear to me that the Liberal-Progressives are willing to use Pope Francis to bolster every one of their socialist ideals, “including homosexual marriage, Climate Change, etc”. The problem is, I don’t know the truth as it relates to the Catholic Church. The apparent liberalism of the church is probably the biggest reason, I stayed away for 30 years.
