What is the Catholic understanding of End of Times

I have been reading Revelation, which is very descriptive (possibly to shock the reader into the realities of the end of times), yet there is a lot of imagery I don’t understand. What is meant by the seven angels that each open a scroll and cause havock on Earth?

In Matthew, it says that we are to be watchful, for the Son of Man shall come like a “thief in the night.”

Excuse imperfect inferences, as I read through the

I understand the part that non-believers and believers alike are urged to repent (the churches in Symra), but how much “repenting” can one do?

A healthy way to stay in a state of grace would be following the ten commandments, active participation in Mass and the sacrament of reconcilliation.

The visions with the seven angels are thought by some to be of the many persecutions God has permitted, permits, or will permit, to happen to his Church.

And to repent includes “sorrow for and abhorrence of sins committed, and the firm purpose of sinning no more in the future.” Catechism 1490

Seven sets of events, occurring by the will of God, under His providence and, in some cases, by supernatural intervention.

Part of revelation was written about that particular present in code because of church persecution. Part was written about the end.

Catholics don’t worry about the end. Jesus said not to worry, only the Father knows and not to trust people about it. The main thing to know is most will not know. They will be given in marriage, women who are pregnant and nursing will suffer. People will be expecting the next day to come.

The end is the end. There is no saving people from suffering during the antichrist. There really aren’t stages of ending. We do get our bodies back at the resurrection. We do believe in the resurrection of the dead.

A few hundred years ago someone put together a mess of versus from the Bible and combined to them to make up a “rapture” notion. Catholics don’t believe that sequence will happen.

When we die we will be judged. We go to hell, purgatory then heaven after a period of purification or straight to heaven. Then at the second coming of Jesus everyone will be judged. It doesn’t change the particular judgement the deceased person received at their own death. So it’s not really a judged again situation. There will be a new heaven and a new earth. I would love to know more about catholic perspectives on this. Ultimately we will be with God because Jesus opened the gates of heaven and while this world will there will be a new world. God is without end.

People sin again after repentance so a lot of repenting can be done.

The problem with the Commandments is that man does not have the power (will) not to sin. Braking one of the Commandments is failing all Ten. So we must rely in the Purchase that Jesus did for us. As Scriptures tells us ‘no man can say he has not sin.’ Yet, we are to turn back to God in the Sacrament of Confession and strive to remain abiding in Jesus.

The issue of forgiveness came up once:
21 Then came Peter unto him and said: Lord, how often shall my brother offend against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? 22 Jesus saith to him: I say not to thee, till seven times; but till seventy times seven times. (St. Matthew 18)
It is not about how much repenting one can do. It is about how contrite (the condition of your heart and mind) that counts.

Would God forgive a habitual sinner ever time he/she claims to be repentant? Only God knows the mind and the heart of the sinner… and only God knows when will be the day and the hour where the “repentant” would not have the time to repent.

It is the reason why Christ Commands His Disciples to be ready/alert, because we will not know when the End or end will meet us!

Maran atha!
