What is the Church teaching about observing the Sabbath?

What is the Church teaching about observing the Sabbath? I am a recent convert, so I don’t have all of the details down yet. I’m working a job with odd hours. Does the Sabbath start Saturday night and go all the way through Sunday? If so, am I sinning by not observing the Sabbath because of work? Thanks for your help!
