What is the church teaching on wearing Rosary Beads as jewelry?

Hi I wanted to know the church teaching on wearing Rosary Beads as jewelry.

My daughter had a friend who was wearing rosary beads to school and she was not sure if it was OK and if she should say something to her friend. We believe that the friend is Catholic but my daughter is not sure that she is a practicing Catholic.
