What is the Church's interpretation of Paul's comments about women's authority?

What is the authoritative interpretation of the Magisterium about Paul’s remarks about it not being acceptable for women to hold positions of authority, such as 1 Tim 2:11-12? (“A woman must receive instruction silently and under complete control. I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man. She must be quiet.”)
