heres the other logical fallacy i see in your reasoning, you are OK with the Church telling you how to breed, yet you are against the state telling you how to breed? how exactly do you reason?
There is no logical fallacy in having different standards for the State and the Church. And you didn’t name a logical fallacy, so I would like to know what it is called if you can name it.
The Church tells us that we sin if we engage in certain behaviors, it also reminds us of virtues and blessings, which we are free to accept or reject. The state on the other hand has the power to physically coerce people.
The Church however, is never going to condone the state enforcing intrinsically evil actions on its population, including abortion, contraception, sterilization, IVF, and artificial insemination, to accomplish a supposedly* good end.

*BTW, eugenics and selective breeding often lead to a weakening of the species, and vulnerabilities to certain diseases cropping up. As can be seen in purebred dogs for example.

Talk about fallacies… The Church doesn’t tell us “how to breed”.

SP555 Read the above posts: these are the reasons you come across as a troll.

thats just not true. under the third reich, there was NO BIAS against class. the leadership specifically stated “regardless of class or occupation” and Hitler did reach a concordat with the vatican. not that i support him, but it helps to look at actual historical facts. in fact the reich propaganda minister publicly condemned abortions. the reich was more in favor of sterilizing the disabled rather than euthanizing or aborting them.
During the war, the Pope publically attacked Hitler’s views on Eugenics. In retaliation, Hilter closed all the convents and monasteries in Munster, and sent all the patients at the local hospital who were deamed retarded, deficient in some way to the death camps. Over 800 people in all.

God bless,

Someone who is incapable of making long-term commitments and decisions or who is unable to grasp or carry out the responsibilities of marriage, either due to immaturity or intellectual disability, is not able to be validly married. Further, it is not infertility but impotence, which is a big difference. They have to be capable of consenting both mentally and physically. Either one disqualifies. It’s a false dichotomy.

The church condemns addiction. It also condemns relations outside marriage. It promotes responsible parenthood. There are plenty of problems with a drug addict giving birth to 18 children, but the children aren’t among those problems. The church provides counseling, medical care, parenting classes, adoption services, job training, and many other services to address the root problem. The person should be able to give herself freely within a marriage. The same applies to a physically healthy married couple. Again you create a false dichotomy.

The church is consistent in her teachings which respect all people. Your condemnation of people as being less worthy of life or love than someone who is taller or follows directions faster is far more telling about your values than about the church’s.
aha! see, but my point still stands! it is absurd that the church wont allow impotent people to marry, yet they will allow people with tourettes, heart problems, diabetes, etc to marry. and i find it VERY hypocritical of all of you to criticize eugenics as “cruel and inhumane” while at the same time you say that two people who love eachother but are impotent shouldnt be able to get married because of a physical defect, hmm now that sounds A LOT like eugenics 😃 except ironically it would actually be OK for people with impotence to marry. because they have zero chance of passing it on to their kids, as they cant have any.

the second thing, yeah lol thats a lovely platitude, except it just doesnt work like that in real life you must make a distinction between the proletariat (the working class) and the “lumpenproletariat” (criminlas). unfortunately the latter doesnt benefit from assistance like welfare or job training, because they dont want to change their ways, they dont want to stop using drugs, they dont want to stop commiting crimes. thus the least they could do is not to produce anymore children. but the church for some reason is like “OH NOES, condoms are evil, its much better that these people have kid after kid” again how does the church reason? or if a married couple realises that they have some sort of genetic disease, and they dont want to pass it along to their offspring, according to the church, they STILL cant use condoms, tell me, how is that compassionate? how is that anymore humane than sterilizing them?

You obviously don’t understand what marriage actually is. If you cannot complete the marital act, then you cannot have a marriage. Sort of logical when you think about it. And no, it isn’t eugenics because an impotent person can’t pass on their genes anyway. (Though if one is not Catholic or rejects the church, the state allows impotent people to get married, though not consummating the marriage might be grounds for annulments in some states). The Church also says two men can’t get married to each other, but we can’t call that eugenics either.

If a couple doesn’t want to pass on poor genes to offspring, they are free to do so. But the nature of marital relations means that they must abstain, either completely or periodically. (Sex=babies by nature).

I hate that guy honestly. yeah bring up a lot of half truths along with a bunch of distorted facts and you got yourself a half hour documentry!
oh by the way, ofcourse, its all the liberals and global warming is hoax! weeeee
I find that to explain your position on eugenics pretty well. You have a very arrogant stance.

It’s a shame that the ability for people to complete the marital embrace would be attacked by people that think they know so much better than the rest of us. Socialism, I think it’s called. It’s an inability to trust God, and a push for power by virtue of birth control.

Oh yeah, and man-made global warming is a load of bull. Being spoon-fed garbage through college was no treat.
