What is the Church's take on graven images?

:confused: Yes, my question is in reference to the “second commandment in eastern catholic perspectives.” I have read the ten commandments in Exodus and I am very confused about the commandment against Graven Images…etc. And also even though it says not to make them and bow down to them, why do us catholics do it anyway? It just doesn’t fit well with me. Thank You.
