Is it God Bless you? I am not sure we did not, or I don’t recall discussing this in RCIA?

Could you clarify what you mean? I am not sure when you are supposed to say something.

After Father places the host in your hand or mouth, aren’t you supposed to say something, maybe it is before, I don’t know. All I know is that every time I take communion and it is an Usher or someone other than father giving the host, and I say or don’t say something I get a weird look. So I want to make sure I am not doing anything wrong.

He holds up the host and says Body of Christ. You then reply AMEN and receive the host in hand or on the tongue. Then you step aside.

**Before **

Bow

He says , "Body of Christ."
You say, "Amen."

Afterwards

Say nothing.

When they say “this is the Body of Christ”, you say “Amen”. You say nothing after communion.

Once back in your pew you might want to learn to recite this prayer since it carries a partial indulgence all the time and a plenary indulgence if you have gone to confession within a week of receiving the Eucharist…

Anima Christi

Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, inebriate me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O good Jesus, hear me.
Within Thy wounds hide me.
Suffer me not to be separated from Thee.
From the malignant enemy defend me.
In the hour of my death call me.
And bid me to come to Thee.
That with Thy Saints I may praise Thee
Forever and ever. Amen.

The underlined portion above is not part of the rubrics, although many take it upon themselves to add it in.

Body of Christ

And for Trads:

Kneel

As the Priest presents himself in front of you tilt your head slightly back with your tongue slightly extended.

He will, with his concecrated finger tips,

do the sign of the cross with the host over the chalice saying,

**"Corpus Dómini nostri Iesu Christi custódiat ánimam tuam in vitam ætérnam. Amen. **
(the Body of our Lord Jesus Christ preserve thy soul unto life everlasting. Amen)

You recieve our Lord and say nothing.

Returning to your pew you can meditate on the Grace you have just recieved.

I use the exact prayer ChurchMilitant has provided.

Ecce Lignum crucis in quo salvs mundi pependit.

Behold the wood of the Cross,on which hung the Savior of the World.
