1 John 5:16
“If any one sees his brother committing what is not a mortal sin, he will ask, and God will give him life for those whose sin is not mortal. There is sin which is mortal; I do not say that one is to pray for that.” — RSV
“If anyone sees his brother commit a sin that does not lead to death, he should pray and God will give him life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is **a sin **that leads to death. I am not saying that he should pray about that.” — NIV
“If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is **a sin **unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.” — KJV
According to the RSV, there can be many mortal sins, but NIV and KJV seem to imply that there is **only one mortal sin **(probably, blasphemy against the Holy Spirit).
What does the Latin Vulgate say in 1 John 5:16?
