What is the Daily Roman Missal and what is the most current edition?

I have a St. Joseph missal that I use for Sundays, but I’m thinking of getting a missal that has the readings for every day of the week. I was wondering if the DRM has that, and which edition will have the readings for the Mass. I know some editions of many missals like St. Joseph missals have older versions that don’t correspond yo the Mass now.

2011 (Liturgical year 2012) is most current.

I have both St Joseph weekday missals 2002 I’d give without charge to anyone who would USE them if they gave me a shipping label for 3 pounds from Pennsylvania, USA.

The READINGS are still the same, as NABRE is not yet approved for liturgical use in the US.

Or, USCCB will send you the readings in your email every day, or audio by podcast. Though I like reading in a book better myself. Just the ones I have are pocket edition and the print is small for my getting-old eyes.

The Daily Roman Missal has all the readings for the year as well as mass propers for feast days and masses for special occasions. The DRM also includes many devotional prayers and other useful material (such as Stations of the Cross, Eucharistic Adoration, etc).

The current edition is the 7th edition.

I can get the apps, and I can go online for the readings, but I don’t want to be in Mass with my phone. I feel like I’m thinking more about what people think of me with my phone out rather than the Mass.
The other option is to print them out. But in the long run, that’s just me printing out the entire Bible and losing the loose pages one by one.
Is this the right one?
Oh and follow up question, what is the difference between the DRM and the Pauline missal?

I’m with you there! I misunderstood and thought you wanted the daily readings for personal devotion. I don’t even bring my cellphone to Mass at all.

You might also consider a subscription to a seasonal devotional magazine, that might be easier to bring back and forth to Mass. My wife has a subscription to Magnificat. There are many others with the correct daily readings.

I’m a nursing student. So I have to have my phone with me at all times. I don’t let it get in the way of Mass, however.

You might also consider a subscription to a seasonal devotional magazine, that might be easier to bring back and forth to Mass. My wife has a subscription to Magnificat. There are many others with the correct daily readings.

I’d rather have a book than a subscription. It doesn’t seem likely that we will need a new edition of the Missal anyway. I’ve been carrying my St. Joseph Missal and my Handbook of Prayers Student Edition with me to Church weekly; a book about the same size won’t be much a burden.

Look carefully at the seventh edition because you may like it, but it does not include all the Eucharistic Prayers like the St. Joseph does (DRM is missing Reconciliation I, II). I think they are all missing the updates for St. Joseph in Eucharistic Prayers II, III, IV, which are so recent. St. Joseph also has a three volume set (Sunday volume and two Weekday volumes Vol. 1, Advent to Pentecost and Vol. 2: Pentecost to Advent).

What the clergy use, the Third Edition of the Roman Missal (English Translation used from Nov. 27, 2011) has:

Eucharistic Prayers I, II, III, IV.
Eucharistic Prayers for Masses of Reconciliation I, II.
Eucharistic Prayers for Various Needs and Occasions I, II, III, IV.

Good point. I understand the typical edition of 2002 (Latin) was also updated to include St. Joseph in those EP’s you mentioned. EP1 already had St. Joseph mentioned; however the English didn’t reflect the Latin “St. Joseph, Spouse of the same Virgin.” EP2,3,4 added “St.Joseph, Her Spouse” in both the Latin and the English.
