What is the deal about Harry Potter?

I am in an accountability group and am against having my daughter read* Harry Potter* and two guys said that Harry Potter is not a threat to their kids. I need to be informed about Harry Potter because I have never seen it and cannot debate it. I also have no interest in seeing it.
 
Not knowing what an “accountability group” is, I’m not sure of the context for this discussion. If you don’t want your daughter to read Harry Potter, that’s your privilege; just as it is your fellow group members’ privilege to decide what their kids will read or watch. There is no need to “debate” Harry Potter with these people; all that need be done is for everyone to agree to disagree and move on to the next topic for discussion. But, since you mentioned that you want to be informed about Harry Potter, I recommend the book linked below.
