What is the difference between Catholics and Protestants?

Not to mention that the tone of the whole thing is offensive by reason of a peculiarly patronizing tone…Like, you know,:rolleyes: “Well, you ignorant dolts, this is how screwed up you are, whereas **I **know-it-all”.:mad:

I wish Protestants would try getting their theology from God for once instead of from millions of men’s millions of interpretations of God.

Its sad really. It breaks my heart. It really really does.

sounds you brought us straight to some proof of the necessity of oral tradition. good job! You are almost Catholic already, I can feel it.

A few questions to get the dialog rolling.

What came first, the church or the bible?
Does the bible condemn all traditions?
Even you have a favorite tradition of the Catholic Church. The bible!

The article quotes a letter that says scripture is beneficial, but read that again.
Who was he talking to?
What scripture has that person read since childhood?
Hint: it’s not the new testament.

I completely agree with the quoted verses, but you seem to think that it says scripture ALONE. However, that is an idea that you are adding to the verse. It does not say that.

From Islamic/Quranic point of view there is hardly any difference between Catholics and Protestants, both deriving their religious creeds from a single incident “ Jesus cursed death on Cross” that never happened; and is only based on their misconceptions, as I think, having nothing to do with Jesus.

Is your view the same as the standard Muslim view, or does your branch have a different basis for denying the crucifixion?

Yes, Jesus was put on Cross but no Muslim believes that he died a cursed death on Cross, not even a single Muslim believes that.

One thing I dont get, its said alot here that protestants dont follow church tradition or man. That scripture alone is to be followed.

Maybe it was because I was a skeptic (still am actually) and had several Pastors say, dont believe me look it up yourselves. Anyway yes I look to the scriptures prayerfully, and I also look to various versions to see if they align or disagree. Then I would think what the Pastor said, then my dear hubby, family, friends, read what various people write on the subjects. Fan of CS Lewis, he sorts all confusion, Andrew Murray, what those before me thought and newer authors.

Then after more prayer then come to conclusions. Now, it may not be the exact process for each question but I couldnt call myself sola anything. Jesus said to test it all out, so I do, including Him. Which I may add I lose each time 🤷

So perhaps protestants are more questioning than is presented or Im just weird. Im not sure.
