What is the Difference Between Ordinary Time Mass and Advent Mass?

Tomorrow will be the first time that I will serve as a cross bearer during Advent and I really hope I don’t embarrass myself.
I know that Gloria is not sung, so does that mean that I hold out the Sacrament book immediately after the Penitential Act?
What other differences are there that I should be aware of?

While you’re carrying the cross, there should be no difference at all.

If you mean what the differences are that particularly pertain to serving at the altar, I would highly recommend consulting with Father before mass starts. Really the only thing that differs is that the Gloria is not sung, as you noted. The Collect (first prayer from the Missal) is chanted or read right after the Penitential Act or the Kyrie (depending on if the Kyrie is used), so in logic, yes, you would have to present the Missal to the priest right after that since the Gloria is not sung. But I still highly suggest getting your directions from the priest celebrant himself before mass.
