can somebody tell me the difference between sexual attraction and lust. I am at an age where things like lust are hard to ovvercome. It would be much appreciated if somebody answered!

On one side there is admiring. On the other is wanting to do something about it if you get my drift.

Also, admiration takes into account the human element of the other person. Lust is “admiring” someone as an object.

Lust is subpersonal & defiling. NO love there.
Demons work hard to encourage lust.

Romance, marriage, family is the right way

That’s rather…bleak. But the OP wasn’t talking about sexual intercourse. Just sexual attraction. There is nothing wrong with sexual attraction.

True that it is a sin to have sexual intercourse outside of marriage. But the Church teaches that the sexual act is good when used rightly.

He did say attraction not intercourse. intercourse outside of marriage is not allowed. However in the confines of a healthy relationship there is always sexual attraction you just want to be careful not to allow attraction which is normal to turn into more premeditated feelings like lust or desire.

Lust is an activity you do, sexual attraction is something that is not something you do.

Syr 9,8
Turn your eyes away from a handsome woman, do not stare at a beauty belonging to someone else. Because of a woman’s beauty, many have been undone; this makes passion flare up like a fire.

Well the best advice is not to stare. Simply dont look. It is very thin border between commiting a sin and just admiring the inner beauty. So dont play with that strong force or you will get burned.
There are more things to do than staring at women. They may look innocent and modest but your mind is weak, so you may look where you shouldnt.

Yes, but you managed to get the Church’s teaching wrong, and make even the parts you got right sound, as someone else put it, awfully bleak.

The Church does distinguish between sexual attraction and lust, much as it does between “good feelings” and love. The first item in each category is involuntary and cannot logically be morally forbidden or commanded. The second item in each category is an act of the will, oriented toward viewing a human being as an object for one’s delectation (in the case of lust) or toward the ultimate good of a person regardless of your transitory feelings toward them (in the case of love).

Would you please cite your sources for these claims:

You will burn in hell for sexual attraction.

Intercourse is allowed only if you want children.

Thank you.
