Hi brothers and sisters,

How can you explain the difference between the Word and the gospel?

Christ is risen alleluia, alleluia.

The Gospel is the good news that Jesus is the Messiah and that, through His Passion and the gift of His Church, He has provided the Way to Salvation and eternal unity with God.

The Word is Jesus (cf. John 1:1ff).

So, basically, Jesus is the Word, and the Gospel is the good news about Him.

Does that help?

I asked this question because I want to be really cleared to one of the insert verses that has been done to the Joseph Smith Translation (JST), which is one of the arguments at the other forum that runs in my own language. Thanks for you help.
