When i read about the techniques they seem identical?

Think they’re trying to realize different things, since Zazen’s Zen and Zen’s could be considered nihilist (all are alike parts of Nonbeing) and Tibetan is Vajrayana which is monist (all are alike parts of Being).

Wow, that last post didn’t come out too clear.

What I meant is, Zazen’s Zen, Samatha is Tibetan; Zen could be considered nihilist (all are alike parts of Nonbeing), while Tibetan, which is Vajrayana, is monist (all are alike parts of Being).

I think Zazen and Samatha reflect the different cosmologies of their respective sects.

Think so. They’re actually very closely related sects (they differ by one sutra, I believe).
