Yes you are right we can turn our back on Him. If we love the world more than the ways of God. This has happened to many brothers and sisters. Again I agree with you we must remain in Him. As Paul said put on the armor of faith.

Iron sharpens iron. These issues are important and need to be hashed out.

Scripture is quite clear about it. Jesus and Peter are blatantly clear about it.

Your own requirements that you have created for salvation falter. If it takes belief in Jesus (a mental assent, no works) then how were Moses and Elijah saved? We see them at the Transfiguration, so they contradict your requirements for salvation that you have set up.

Baptism of desire and blood merely follows the logic that God has saved people outside of the sacraments, but it assumes they would get baptized IF they were able to do so. If you get hit by a bus on the way to being baptized, God won’t withhold salvation from you. This doesn’t mean that baptism isn’t necessary for salvation.u

Sounds like John is pretty adamant that baptism is necessary. Or do you think you get to Heaven without the Holy Spirit?

Baptism.

And you were required to obey the Sabbath if you could. Just as you are required to be baptized if it is available to you. So pulling a goat out of a ditch on the Sabbath doesn’t violate the Sabbath, nor does healing someone on the Sabbath. But otherwise, you WERE required to obey the Sabbath.

Scripture says that baptism saves you. That’s more than a sign.

Truth is not dependent on your feelings, and I’m not trusting my eternal soul based on your feelings. I’ll trust the pillar and foundation of truth.

Likewise!
At this point zz, I want to hold to a little more accuracy. Peter does not simply say “baptism saves”. He actually said “baptism doth ALSO now save us”. This means it is in addition to something else. So we must see what else he says concerning salvation. He before said in ch 1 that we are “born again by the word of God”. You keep ignoring this as if it has no meaning. You just pick and choose what agrees with your tradition. As I discussed before, your favorite verse is not a straight out statement, but rather a comparison with Noah and the flood. Peter is saying that “baptism doth also now save us”, but NOW in a different and additional way and he is referring to the story of Noah as the illustration. I showed how it was the water that killed off the evil in the world, just as in baptism the evil or “old man” in us is to drown in the water of baptism and also signifying that we have a new resident leader in us.

Is this totally illogical to you?

Is that the only requirement?

What about the other commands that God gives? Are they optional? Can a Christian refuse to obey them and be saved?
Yes, this is all, period. Paul asks, “Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?”
