What is the divine purpose for the existence of animals?

Can the same be said for the Dinosaurs? Im curious if their existence gave God glory? Is it possible we have underestimated what the Dinosaurs were? or misunderstood why they were created and here for so long? The 3 time periods when they existed, spanned millions of years, but mankind has yet to reach a few thousand years and look at the world we have created for ourselves? Seems to me we screwed it up quickly, yet the dinosaurs must have been doing something right to be around for that long.
Our value and significance do not depend on how long we survive but on our positive contribution to life. 😉

Perhaps just serving God’s purpose preparing for us.

The question implies that there is no obvious purpose for the existence of animals whereas there is for the human race. Doesn’t that imply prejudice for our own species?
Why should belonging to a different species make such a radical difference? Surely their existence has some value both for them and for us. A world devoid of animals would be less interesting and less valuable.
Having lived in Africa for ten years I can assure you that the lives of wild animals are full of variety, pleasure, excitement and fulfilment regardless of the existence of human beings.

maybe:
void → earth → plants → animals → man → angels ← (God)
an essential link in a hierarchal chain of souls?
👍 It would be odd if there were a direct transition from plants to persons!

If there were no animals we would be overgrown with grass and trees, if there were no bees, mosquitoes &bugs there would be no pollination, no pollination, no fruit , no flowers,
If there were no little fish in the seas, there would be no big fish in the seas,
Without all of the above, what would there be ? Just a dull boring big rock orbiting our star,
Whereas now we are hitching a ride on an amazing blue jewel beaming with life,
Pity about the human folk though,

I think this alone proves intelligent design, how else could everything work so perfectly together? Every bug, animal, and plant does a critical job ensuring nature functions as it was meant to, there is just no way all this perfection came together by themselves thru evolution. lol

Nobody knows. For those that believe that there are infinite universes, then perhaps there are universes with only non-intelligent life. And some with no life. And some with completely different dimensions and physical laws than our own. I have always liked the idea that we are a thought in the mind of God. If God has infinite intelligence, doesn’t He think of all possible things and all possible universes?

I agree, and would also bet God has created trillions upon trillions of other civilizations, it is obvious our God is one who loves to create, he even says this in the bible, so to think we are the only planet we has ever created life on is absurd imo.

I just wonder what type of relationship God has with all these other civilizations, and if they all have their own ‘versions’ of the bible.
