Can we dispense with this bizarre Tweety lovefest?
No one denies Tweety her relationship with Jesus. And if she wants to disagree with the Church on “some points”, that’s her business. But SHE, not us, has made it public knowledge that she holds herself to be Catholic…not catholic, but Catholic. And without shame, she openly professes her disbelief and refusal to submit to some core salvific truths of the Catholic faith. AND…she has openly shared that she places herself in a position to teach others these same truths which she herself denies.
This is NOT about attacking Tweety about her love for Christ, nor as an undoubtedly loving and caring person. This is about calling her out for her scandalous actions as a professed member of Christ’s Church. This is not about being judgmental…if we were doing that, we would offer our opinion about her eternal fate, which no one (but One) knows. This is about defending the Church against compromise and partial truth, and SCANDAL. We know she does not intend to do any of this to The Church, but she needs a wake up call where that is specifically concerned.
Of course non-Catholics are not going to understand why true Catholics challenge false Catholics. They think that so long as we all believe in Christ, and leave it at that mere belief, we’re all OK and can run right out and spread the teachings of Christ. No need to challenge anyone, because being a Christian is reduced to a one-time profession of belief. Well, that’s NOT true and full Christianity, folks. And if Tweety wants to be a partial-truth Christian, loving Jesus with all her emotion and limited understanding of what He did with The Church…then so be it…God bless and good luck to her. But don’t pretend to be Catholic…call yourself a lapsed Catholic, or something else…but not Catholic…and certainly don’t involve yourself in RCIA, unless you are going back into it as an inquirer. Are you kidding me with this “I teach RCIA??” Unbelievable.

You guys are so clueless in your zeal for the defense of the Catholic Church. We should all consider 1 Cor 13 when we discuss things. It doesn’t take a brain scientist to know that many on here have hurt dear Tweetymom who is a 71 year old Grandma. The cartoon is there to wake you guys up!

Thank you Adam, one thig I am a Great grandma too 10 times. I do teach in Rcia. I teach what a ministry is and the power of prayer, nothing else. My lesson plans are always turned into our Priest and meet with His approval! Oh I am not a liitle old lady who knits etc. I am a great Grandme(heavy on the great) who has a ball.I go dancing etc. nd anything I am able to do, which is a bunch, probaly would amaze you. I do have gray hair but I am not dottering.
I love Jesus and try the best I can to be what He wants me too. I have read some of the posts to fellow Catholics and they think some are out of line. Not Adams tho. Now for those of you who think I am not living up to what you think a Catholic is or isn’t that great! So continue with the bashing or what ever you call it. I am pleased when you do because I know that I am where Jesus wants me to be getting bashed by peole that think they are alwats perfect. I am not but sure try hard to be. Oh and God Bless you Adam.

This is not a “judgment”, Tweety, but an observation. it is not “bashing” to make note of the Truth. In fact, you do not hold Catholic faith, by your own admission. Besides, I assure you there are many people on here posting misinformation. I find no lack of opportunity to point this out.
No, Tweety, it is not a good thing when a person misrepresents themselves. I have also not given any harsh words. If they seem harsh to you, then perhaps you recognize the truth of what I have posted. Perhaps you will experience a conviction in your conscience? It is not a “great time” for me to see Catholics who are poorly catechized, and have embraced teachings that are a departure from what the Apostles believed and taught. On the contrary, it is quite saddening.
You are right, I do not know your heart, and do not presume to judge your relationship with God. I can make a discernment on what you have posted. Your affiliation says you claim to be “Catholic”, and your posts confirm that you do not hold the Catholic faith.
If you believe that Christ is pleased when you misrepresent yourself this way, then you are right, it is between you and He.
It is a puzzle how it is that someone might find happiness in misrepresenting themselves publicly, however, I will take your word for it.

You are avoiding, Tweety. If you were not, there would be no discrepancy between what you claim to be, and what you actually believe. Indeed, this is the problem with the Catholic Church in America at the present time. People are under the misapprehension that they can pick and choose which doctrines to embrace. This is not the case. Such “catholics” have left the Church, and have become Protestant, though they do not realize it.
It is not one’s individual claim that makes one Catholic or not, but whether they embrace the doctrines if the Church. Many call themselves Catholics, and are not.
It is not a matter of a beam, Tweety. We are observing that what you state you believe is not consistent with what you say about yourself. If you see anyone else on CAF doing the same, then I encourage you to confront this discrepancy.
This is great, Tweety. Though it is a mystery to me how your heart can be right with God when you are misrepresenting yourself publicly, this is between you and your Maker. What is problematic here at CAF is not what happens between you and God in your prayer closet, but purporting that you are “Catholic” when your posts clearly indicate this is not the case.

As long as she is on CAF purporting to espouse a faith she does not, she will make herself the subject of notice.
She could well follow the example of Polycarp, who, despite his “age”, refused to deny the faith that was committed to him by the Apostles.

I am very relieved to hear this! When you said you were teaching in RCIA, I feared the worst - that you were perpetrating Protestant Theology to the newcomers. I am glad to know that you are confining yourself to those areas where your beliefs do not conflict with the Catholic faith.
It is a mystery why you would think it would be “in line” to represent yourself as someone you are not.
No one here is “bashing” you Tweety. No one here has said that you are not living up to “what we think Catholic is”. On the contrary, it has been said repeatedly that no one here is able to judge your heart. All we can do is judge the content of your posts, which often contradict the Catholic faith. Being Catholic is not about what any of us “think” it is, but what Jesus has revealed as True. You have stated that you reject many of the doctrines committed to the church by the Apostles. This means that your faith is not Catholic. The standard of what is Catholic lies outside all of us.
No one here is judging you, Tweety. We are only observing that there is a discrepancy between who you claim to be, and what you have stated you believe. The intention is not to hurt your feelings.

I Do Not agree with everything.Are you satisfied. I have answered this question before, do you want it printed in blood? My Priest knows this and His answer was Neither do I but I teach what the CC says and so do I. I have never been asked this question but if I were I would say YES. Is that clear enough for you? Or would you like that signed in blood?
Now you have something else to bash me about. But like I said more glory to you.
If you would like a list of things I don’t agree with I will be happy to give them to you as soon as I get back from Mass,
But #1 Is birth control! and the biggest diagreement I have, Nothing else really major just small things, and I know what you are going to say, for you it is always major, and I say good for you!

Thank you for being honest, and no, I am not satisfied that you are not in agreement with the Catholic Church on some points. Are you?
Do you not realize that non-Catholics and wavering Catholics who visit this forum look at Catholics like you who are unfaithful to the Church’s Magisterium as evidence that their own separation from and disagreement with the Catholic Church is no big deal?
In other words, do you understand the public scandal caused by representing yourself as a Catholic (and an RCIA teacher) even though you openly (proudly) disagree with the Church?
Kinda dramatic, don’t you think?
Okay. What would happen to the Church if everyone followed your example and sought out priests who shared their points of disagreement with Church doctrine? How long would it be before Catholicism became fractured like Protestantism?
