What is the greatest evidence that God is LOVE?

Is the Death of Christ the greatest [perhaps only] evidence of God’s love?
 
God creating the world is an act of love.
God putting up with our constant sins.
etc etc

But the Cross is the greatest act of His love.
 
My understanding PJM is that divine relevation doesn’t say God is loving or God has love but it says God is love. He is love itself. His very existence is love (among other things). Does that make sense? We hear it expressed that God ‘so loved the world that He gave His only Son’, and other passages like this but if one focuses on God is love (as He is truth and beauty and perfection, etc.), then it seems to me we can see evidence of His love in everything of God - like you - out of love, He created you.
I don’t know where I’m going here so I’ll stop. I’m trying to express something but I think my brain is too small to handle such ponderings.

Now what other, even GREATER evidence is their? Hmmmmmm:shrug:***
 
That God IS Love is not, IMHO, evidenced by the Passion. This shows God’s great love for us, yes, but it doesn’t correlate that this makes His very being, what He IS, love.

The Trinity does that. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body explains this in much greater depth, but I’ll try and give a preview. God the Father, eternal and completely unrestrained in His giving of Himself to The Son, and the son’s reciprocation, and the living love between Them, The Holy Spirit, make God’s very nature Love. The Trinity makes what God IS, love.

Love cannot act upon itself; someone cannot truly love themselves. That’s a false love. Love has to love someone. So for God to BE love, within His very nature there must be more than one person. Surprise! We find such a thing in the Blessed Trinity.

The fact that a relationship with HIM is the hardest thing in the world. Real love, like anything else in life, has ups and downs, moments of passion as well as despair. Open up any psychic advertisement and you see that they will promise you everything you ever wanted at almost no cost to you—boat, money, fame, etc. God won’t give you that. You’ll ask him for money, he’ll send a job your way. And when you achieve your goal, after long hours of despair, revelation, and tears, you will look back and say: had it not been for that journey, I would not have discovered the strength of my spirit as well as the “rock from which my ancestors were quarried from.” ( Isaiah)
 
I don’t know about you, but I see the evidence all around me…when I look at the sky and all the different birds, I also live & work near the ocean that is awesome. I look at my children & my grandchildren and I feel the love of God for me, within me. Everywhere I look I see the evidence of God & His love. There is also the “Word of God”-the Holy Bible, God so loved the world He sent His only begotten Son. Jesus became as one of us and Jesus invites us to unite with Him with the living of an ordinary life. The sacraments of the church…God mercy endures from generation unto generation to those that fear Him. God chases us from the cradle to the grave…
The miracle of God’s love is visibly to us when look at the Holy Eucharist, when we receive the Holy Eucharist.
 
God is love because He is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; they are in loving relationship with one another 🙂

I think the evidence for God’s love is everywhere… but the strongest evidence is in the Cross and in the Eucharist.

**The issue for me is in understanding that Christ by becoming man “for awhile becoming a little less than the angels”] showed a williness to endure great hardship for our Redemption. Then He Suffered, Died and Rose from the dead in a spectacular display of LOVE; but even that was insufficient because as Jesus hung on the Cross of pain and suffering He was filled with remorse. Not for what He had accomplished, but with a clear and keen understanding of what He had failed to do.

And just what had Jesus failed to do? **

***While Jesus had accomplished “Redeemption” for all of humanity, He had NOT accomplised Salvation for every past, present and future man, women and child. Why not we ask; for God had endured so very much? Why not?

And the answer is truly profound: because He “could not” violate the gifts of mind, intellect and freewill that is bestowed in each of us. Salvation, just like God’s decision to LOVE us is a persoanl decision. A decision that each of us MUST and will [even if we choose NOT TO] make for ourselves.

Because of God’s Love, because God insist that we glorify and praise and honor Him, returning LOVE for LOVE* **Isaiah 43: 7 and 21and Eph.1 **" we who first hoped in Christ have been destined and appointed to live for the praise of his glory. In him you also, who have heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and have believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, which is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory."/COLOR]

Because we are Redeemed but NOT YET saved Jesus has instituted His ONE Church, His Seven sacraments, and most notably, thee GREATEST and most profound display of love ever given; freely deciding to become inanimate objects [a far greater Sacrifice than dieing on the Cross and again returning to heaven] by becomming our very food “for salvation” THEE greatest, most complete, most profound source of God’s grace in the entire Universe, in Catholic holy Communion.

That dear friends is Love, complete, total, and conditional on being in the state of grace [love returning love] and ONLY in His Catholic Church:D 👍**
