It IS a very dramatic piece. I like Wagner but don’t know if he qualifies in the ‘classic’ period. His music though suffered as it was a favorite of the Nazis. Ugh.

Ah, yes. Wagner. Hitler’s own pet composter. He’s several hundred years from the Classical era … 20th Century.
 
:amen: The Halleluiah Chorus - Handel, by far I agree wholeheartedly! I dont care if some don’t consider it Classical Music, to me its a Classic!! When everyone stands for the Halleluiah chorus, I just have tears streaming down my face, thank God those people shared their talent with us!

Try and get a hold of the Gardiner DVD and watch it. It was filmed in San Marco Venice.
This was absolutely the best recommendation for a DVD I’ve ever gotten on the internet.

Oh my goodness! What a gorgeous, gorgeous work! Absolutely breath-taking.
