Here are a few:
- The unrealistic demands made by some priests to hold several positions within the diocese.
- The 20 percent of the faithful that are unrealistic and take up all your energy…this is especially true with some of the daily mass crowd,
- People in the parish that judge a priest according to their own misgivings or fantasies,. I especially love when people say you take a vow of poverty…noooo I’m a diocesan priest.
4 fellow priests that stayed in their parishes so long that they messed up the faithful with their liberal agenda and now I’m dealing with people who are almost basic in their understanding of the faith. - I love when people say I went to catholic schools or CCD all my life and then proceed to say something so dumb that is not even a church teaching of the faith but rather a personal opinion.
- Foolish people that think they don’t need confession but yet come late for mass and still receive the Eucharist. Oh by the way,for these people they have a right to receive the “bread”.
- The fools that think when their loved one dies, even though they never or hardly entered the church, lived a sin filled life, are now angels in heaven and have the ability to grant wishes. He or she is now watching down on me… I will pray to him… Perhaps praying for his soul and having masses said for them may be more wise at this point. Please don’t presume people are in heaven…there is purgatory. Pray always for the dead with mass and fasting.
- Dealing with falling down buildings, lack of faith understanding, and people complaining that money is being asked just to fix their falling down churches…father “always ask for money”…well, my foolish children, this is your church building. So take care of it,
- "Here is my dollar in the collection,…btw. It’s the same amount I gave for years and I’m driving a brand new car and live I beautiful home. Yet, father still asks for money… Wake up people.
10). “Father, my child can’t attend mass on Sunday or Ccd”. Why? He or she has a game or cheerleading practice… This is the most important. E
Sorry to be so blunt but it’s the truth at least in my current parish assignment. Please God help me and the foolish sheep I’m called to serve. I’m sure other parishes are more educated, supportive, and understand the true faith and not their opinions.
