What is the history of the Canonical use and rejection of the gospel of Thomas?

Which churches used these, which churches continued to use them in heresy, and when was the use stopped officially and in practice?

I’m trying to find the last list that recorded the use of this book along with other books used by the same group. My guess is the assyrians or a church east of Alexandria used them for quite some time.

I’m only looking for history of it’s use, not why it was removed or affirmation of it’s heresay.

Coptic Christians use the Gospel of Thomas and other rejected gospels.

It is a gnostic work. Orthodox Christians did not use it, so there is no ‘history’ of it’s use in the church proper. It wasn’t the kind of thing that would be read at Mass.

Since I think it was a ‘secret’ Gospel, it was probably not widely disseminated anyway. We have only been able to get a good look at it’s contents since the Nag Hammadi library cache was discovered.
