Let Us Pray
Code:
O God, whose only begotton Son,
by His life, death, and resurrection has
purchased for us the rewards of eternal life,
Grant, we beseech Thee, that whilst meditating
upon these mysteries of the most Holy Rosary
of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may
imitate what they contain, and obtain what
they promise: through the same Christ our Lord.

        Amen.
**When did it become part of the Rosary and where did it come from?

Thanks.**

The prayer comes from the Divine Office on the 7th of October, the feast of the most holy rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is said at the end of several of the hours. I assume it was piously introduced to the rosary after it was put into the Divine Office.

It’s NOT called “let us pray.” Its name is the “Prayer After the Rosary.”

The words “let us pray” precede many of the prayers said when there is a group praying.
