Our church was started at the turn of this century. Thanks for asking. We follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and His apostles as found in the infallible Bible.
Christ led me to the church after He changed my life.

However, my allegiance is to the universal (or catholic if you will, but with a small c) church of Jesus the Messiah, which began in 33 AD. If Catholics and Orthodox churches want to claim theirs started then, I have no problem with that… but so did mine, and they are part of it too.

Besides, a Catholic did not witness to me. If I had waited around for them, and actually a Catholic has still never actually shared their faith in person, I would now be dead. I really did not have much longer to stick around in my old life style-the effects of which I suffer to this day.
To their credit, the Jehovah Witnesses and Mormons did try. I did not listen to them or believe it but they did try. Actually…in “real life”, the only people that have really shared their faith were those three groups (the third being the independent church I belong to now). Since I have been a Christian, I do not think anyone else has tried in person! I just thought of that…

That’s unfortunate, if you lived in Oceanside, California your would see my wife and I at your door inviting you to the local Catholic Church.

About the first statement, I do believe if you followed Christ and His Apostles you would be Catholic because for 1500 years not much changed, we managed to reason and come to a better understanding of the Mass and what occurred. After Martin Luther the Church was splintered and continues today with people claiming to be the next Christian church with the whole truth. The simple grasp of context in the Bible and you see that there is a lot of cherry picking of many denominations that will ignore many founding ideas in Scripture that support the Catholic Church.

When you make that connection, see the interest, feel… actually feel the change in their lives and then when they do come and you are the one who gets the honor of discipling and baptizing them…I hope thats what kind of visits you have Justin. Given that there have been billions or trillions of members of the human race to ever live, it’s not surprising that at least one denied the Eucharist. For example, I thought I was the first person to figure out that if you fill an seemingly empty soap bottle with water, you can still sort of get soap out of it. But obviously I wasn’t, because there have been human beings before me. In any case, it doesn’t change the fact that the earliest true Christians who weren’t wierdo heretics believed in the True Presence.

I had to google Botulf. I had never heard of him. Learned he was burned at the stake after serving in a clerical prison and judged guilty by the archbishop.for having another belief about the Eucharist. The secular court carried out the sentence of the Church. Of course St Joan of Arc was burned and then made a saint.

I recall Jesus informing his disciples " if they are not against us, they are for us". Does God work outside of his Catholic Church? yes, is there salvation outside of the Catholic Church? no.

It should be repeated from scipture that miracles are for the unbeliever. God works in mysterious ways, and yes God can use those outside the body of Christ, so that his glory may be manifested and point those who witnesse a miracle in their lives, should hear the words of Jesus “go tell the Church”, “go tell a priest”. When one is enlightened and is given the grace to seek out the kingdom of God in the Catholic Church. All these things work together according to the will of God.

Just a couple of thoughts.

1. Episcopalians are part of the Anglican Communion. ISTM that to designate them in the way your list does, means you would have to designate the first Catholic Diocese in American as having a specific start date.
2. Lutherans believe that our Church, as part of the one holy catholic and apostolic Church
   has its start at Pentecost. We therefore do not view our history as 500 years old, but 2,000, sharing 1,500 years of common history with Church Catholic. And we hope and pray for the day when unity again returns.

Besides as others have attested to their churches being part of the one founded by Christ, I’m not quite sure you have this correct either regarding the DoC.

As I understand from the Disciples of Christ, Barton Stone, who believed we can differ and Christ unites, led a church in KY in 1804. In 1811 Thomas and Alexander Campbell led a church in Brush Run with Baptist leanings. I’m not exactly certain if it was in KY or W PA or WV. At the beginning of 1832 these churches merged into what became known as the Christian Church or Disciples of Christ. Prior to 1906 I believe they might have been known by a 3rd name, the Church of Christ, until the Church of Christ folk separated.

All of this history not so important though when as Christians we’re all united in Whom far outweighs any diffferences and in Whom called Himself the Truth, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Peace.

Actually I think it was pretty well splintered by 1054.
