What is the LDS position concerning homosexuality?

the LDS position on homosexuality is identical to the catholic. No sex outside of marriage and only marriage between men and women.

Currently it’s pretty repressive. Historically it was quite progressive, with gay & lesbian saints living on Mormon collective farms and being married in religious ceremonies (see Quinn for more on this).

In the 1980s, various Mengele type experiments were done in conjunction with BYU’s psychology department. It was a sadistic sort of aversion therapy. This had zero success and has been abandoned. (It was called Project Evergreen). Today, it’s acknowledged that gays and lesbians can’t be “cured” but they’re ordered to remain celibate or marry some poor unsuspecting Mormon girl if they want to remain in the good graces of the church.
 
Marriage was prescribed for homosexual men by some Mormon clergy as a means to a “cure”. I hope this has been stopped, as it is disastrous.

I worked at a place that was 99% Mormon, and managed the web traffic. Gay porn surfing was done by a few men who I knew were very devout (on the outside) with temple marriages and children and positions in their church.

I don’t believe for a second this is isolated to Mormons though. There is a reason it is called “coming out of the closet”.
