What is the "Manual Of the Holy Catholic Church"?

A few months ago I was at a former Catholic seminary turned vineyard/restaurant in Napier, New Zealand.

The seminary library in the main building was preserved from the days it was a seminary.

On one of the library bookshelves was a worn old book entitled Manual of the Holy Catholic Church. There’s not much information online about this book. I presume it contains rubrics for the Celebration of the Sacraments? I didn’t look inside. It doesn’t look like such a book had been printed since the early 1900s.

Does anyone know what the Manual of the Holy Catholic Church was used for?

It could have been a personal prayer book. In the old sense of “manual”, a book to be carried in the hand.
