The most annoying thread I have ever read, here or on the internet:
Sorry. The requested thread is no longer available.
This seems to always occur after I have the perfect answer and have spent hours formulating ever nuance of ever word to deliver a post of such incredible scope that I might well be the first lay Pope. Then as I hit “submit” to send this coup de gras on its way and answer some poor misguided soul, I find that the poor misguided soul final went one step too far in my absence and managed to shut the whole thread down.

Tell me I am not the only one this has happened to.

Okay, here is my list:
  1. People who state their opinion but do so as if it were unquestioned truth. If what you say is truth, then everyone but the insane would believe it. It is opinion, not subject to objective proof. Nobody on this earth has the proof that their faith is the first, best or only true one, period. If you believe yours does, keep it to yourself, or at least to those who agree with you. The rest of us are insulted and don’t much care to continue talking to you.
  2. People who set up threads that are questions about another faith or practice, and then piece by piece tell you why your answer is wrong. It’s just the usual bait to proselytize of course, and we all know it. I’d like sincere questions and respect for answers. YOu don’t have to agree, but you didn’t ask for a debate, you said you were interested in learning about X, not tearing it up.

I was wonder why this question was posted in this forum. It seems more suited to the Water Cooler.

But then I don’t pay much attention to the forum** now that the search function is back!!!:extrahappy: **

I actually have 3 things I’ve read that annoy me (ranked in order of annoyance):
  1. Christians assign “partners” to God - when this is obviously not true and has been explained over and over and over and over… but still gets repeated.
  2. The Bible has been corrupted (when no proof has been offered for this statement.)
  3. Jesus did not die on the cross, but escaped and went to India and lived to be 120 years old (or whatever age).
The third one I laughed my head off the first time I read it because I thought it was a joke (😃 ) and I honestly didn’t know there were people that thought that, but now I just roll my eyes at it. There has been no proof offered for this one in the same way there has been no proof that the Bible has been corrupted.
What do you mean by #1? That sounds like paganism. You know - how Zeus had Hera as his wife. Or what do you mean because I don’t understand what you mean.

**Protestants who are Protestants but will tell you they’re not…if you are not in accordance with the church founded by Christ, you ARE a Protestant. Some don’t even know what they are protesting about…🤷 It also bothers me how they have no history, but condemns all history of the Catholic church…good grief…🤷 **

Tell me I am not the only one this has happened to.
You are not the only one that this has happened to. Feel better?

As for me I do find it annoying that so much God stuff is posted. But other than that, it really is a nice forum.

😃 It has happened to me many many times.
[Using Word is a great tool if you can remember to use it - you will have saved all your work.]

I did that many times, and i used to take sometimes hours to research, read, and then write out a post - that it has happened to me and it definitely can raise the ol’ BP. [blood pressure]

Then i figured out that most folks won’t read a well written and long post. :o So i try - try to use brevity now.

My list - not in any particularly order

whole posts in large font, especially when it is in colours other than blue or black and bolded (I feel shouted at)

long posts that are only unbroken text (split them up please)

posts that tell me I should just accept what I am told and not question

(like puzzleannie) posts that give no hint of the topic

being told women should not wear trousers

posters who tell others that they are “selfish” because they do not want to marry and have children

posters who assume that unless people are prepared to convert to Catholicism then they are “anti-Catholic”

(does not apply to reading) when the automatic notification of new posts is not working

Hi

I wonder what annoys you in that. Jesus was a free man. To accomplish his mission to spread the Gospel i.e., prepare the 10 lost tribes of Israel settled in India and neighboring countries to accept Messenger of God named Ahmad/Muhammad when he comes, Jesus went there.

That was the most logical thing to do by Jesus. Please don’t have any objection on the movement of Jesus; you are just an ordinary follower. Why should Jesus follow your wrong ambitions?

So, there is no cause of annoyance on what Jesus opted to do himself.

I love Jesus and Mary who selected Kashmir and the neighboring regions as the permanant resting place.

Thanks

glad to see the search function is back, I thought it had been disabled because nobody on this forum ever uses it anyhoo

And here I thought I single-handedly brought the search function down by pressing the “new posts” search button every time I am bored.😊

I use it all the time. Like, always. Really. While it was broken I had to actually go to each individual forum and, like, read the list. It was such a drag. Like. 😛

I suppose I should stay on topic, though. It annoys me that I can’t type the name of my all time favorite novel, Moby ****. (Yes, I did type it, but the language editor will have starred or x’d it out, I guarantee it.) Everything else around here that annoys me is mostly due to human nature, including my own. My favorite novel, though, that is a real issue.

Oh! This is easy!

“You have been assigned one point for failure of charity.” 😊

oh boy where do i start.

1 REPEATING the same old thing to muslims time and time again, but they keep bringing it up. Its almost like their brains are turned off and they regurgitate the same old thing time and time again and dont take in what we tell them, which is the truth.

2 People assigning partners to God. For goodness sake, GOD HAS NO PARTNERS… period!

3 WE DO NOT WORSHIP IDOLS and Mary, we adore them… BIG difference

4 Jesus did NOT die in india, he died on the cross!!!

Non- Catholics who mistakenly think that the the “Non-Catholic Religions” forum is for the exclusive use of Non-Catholics to discuss anything they want to (including bashing Catholics) without the “interference” of Catholics.

They wish!! :rotfl:

Well, when this happens, just go reread the sermon to the sharks, or the matt weaving chapter…or Qeequeg (I know I didn’t spell that right) and his coffin. You’ll feel better.

Though I still get the giggles over the portrait of the exasperated whale…

I thought it was ‘no search function?’

…which still has my vote, by the way.
I’m glad I’m not the only who went  over the loss of my dear friend, the search function.

But that’s not the most annoying post, since it is not by nature a post. The most annoying post, to me, is the shoe ad, as I said. 🙂

The most annoying thing i read is Protestants who keep bringing up the same old tired non-arguments… against Catholicism…

I don’t think i should name names… or should I??

To be totally honest, i haven’t kept good track of who says what here… but anyway… some of you have…

So… What is the most annoying thing you feel you have to deal with here?
The most annoying thing here is the same lame arguments that Catholics make in defense of being contrary to Scripture and claiming wrongfully to be the one holy catholic and apostolic Church.

How lame could these arguments by Catholics be since they’ve never been credibly refuted?

They have been refuted substantially every single time that they have been made. The issue at hand is that the one making the lame arguments is equally lame at listening to facts and reason.:banghead:

His descriptions are the best, no doubt. I do recall the inn and the picture on the wall. It’s Queequeg. Now I’m in trouble. I’ll have to read it again. Already it has mysteriously moved from my den to my desk here. Very close by. So close…

Non- Catholics who mistakenly think that the the “Non-Catholic Religions” forum is for the exclusive use of Non-Catholics to discuss anything they want to (including bashing Catholics) without the “interference” of Catholics.

What about catholics who think ‘Non-Catholic Religions’ is a place to bash all non-catholic religions and create self serving threads pretending to want discussion and instead giving us all the ‘WE HAVE THE TRUTH YOU’RE GOING TO HELL’ business.

Perhaps the most annoying thing is when people on both sides don’t understand charity and the purpose of civil discussion. When people don’t see bad in themselves.
