No.FrDavid96, are you speculating that Faith in God’s divine revelation of the Virgin conception and Virgin birth of the Word incarnate is not a miracle divine revealed in the Mystery of God?
If you would read the words I’ve posted here, you will see that I repeatedly affirm the perpetual Virginity of our Blessed Mother.
Since you have not yet read what I wrote, I would ask that you please do so before asking that sort of question.
My second post in this thread was to say that no one is denying the Virgin birth. I include myself in the words “no one.”
Is it really necessary for me to explain that further?
You are taking my words out of context. If you read them in context, the meaning is plain.I have no desire in reading a closed thread, that ended with negative exchanges of the Blessed Virgin Mary miracle birth. So can you please explain when did “sound reason” ever replace faith?
I never said that sound reason replaces faith. I said that my reasoning is sound.
What purpose do you hope to achieve by such questions that only twist the words I wrote? Maybe you don’t intend to do it, but that doesn’t change that you are doing it.
If you had actually read my comment as it was posted, as a direct rebuttal to an earlier sentence, it makes perfect sense.I don’t mean to go off topic here with your above post, but I am shocked to read that you compared "Faith, “to merely make an appeal to emotion”? From your post above can you please clarify if I misunderstood your post? And please do not accuse anyone of advocating for less faith instead of more. That does not help your argument at all, to merely make an appeal to emotion.
The first poster tried to imply that anyone who disagrees with his position somehow has “less faith” by saying “we need more faith not less.”
That is not a sound argument in favor of ones position. That is what we call an “appeal to emotion.”
It is a false appeal to emotion, a fallacy: if you disagree with me, you have less faith. If you want more faith, agree with me.
It is the same thing we see from politicians all the time “if you are patriotic, you will vote for me.”
