I just wanted to ask what the Church teaches on the Archangels. I know that September 29 is the Feast of the Archangels Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, but what is it about them that makes them Archangels as opposed to regular Angels? Does the Church even officially call them Archangels or does She just refer to them as Angels and the lower case “t” tradition has dubded them Archangels? References would also be appreciated!
