Thank you, SFV. Although I get nervous now with http: addresses - my browser warns “not secure” if an address is not https:.

Thank you. I’ll also search for this book. My mother language is Spanish, so I prefer to read it in that language, if possible. I think I would understand most of it in English, but for spirituality I prefer to use the language in which I naturally speak, think and understand. Mary was generous with God, and God prized her generosity. May we be generous with Him as well. But the more I try to advance in my faith, the more difficult it seems. I hope I will persevere.
Dear kikiki,

St. Louis de Montfort’s treatise on True Devotion was originally written in French. However there is an inexpensive Spanish edition HERE It’s a paperback copy for around $7.00.

Reading in one’s “mother language” gives an advantage. Varying translations of the Gospel can make God’s Word more difficult to understand — but then – that is where our Faith helps - because by the Supernatural Grace of Faith, given in Baptism, we are enabled to believe in God’s Love for us, and remain in Him and in His Word. We can also believe in Mary’s loving help as our Mother.

Trusting Him, we persevere in asking to receive all we need, seeking to know him more intimately, we will find Him, and if we keep knocking on the door – He will surely open for us. (cf Mt 7:7-11). Jesus and Mary are never outdone in generosity!

Querida hermana kikiki,

Gracias a Dios! Words from St. Louis de Montfort’s book to encourage you:
  1. God the Holy Spirit wishes to fashion his chosen ones in and through Mary. He tells her, “My well-beloved, my spouse, let all your virtues take root in my chosen ones that they may grow from strength to strength and from grace to grace. When you were living on earth, practising the most sublime virtues, I was so pleased with you that I still desire to find you on earth without your ceasing to be in heaven. Reproduce yourself then in my chosen ones, so that I may have the joy of seeing in them the roots of your invincible faith, profound humility, total mortification, sublime prayer, ardent charity, your firm hope and all your virtues. You are always my spouse, as faithful, pure, and fruitful as ever. May your faith give me believers; your purity, virgins; your fruitfulness, elect and living temples.”
  2. When Mary has taken root in a soul she produces in it wonders of grace which only she can produce; for she alone is the fruitful virgin who never had and never will have her equal in purity and fruitfulness. Together with the Holy Spirit Mary produced the greatest thing that ever was or ever will be: a God-man. She will consequently produce the marvels which will be seen in the latter times. The formation and the education of the great saints who will come at the end of the world are reserved to her, for only this singular and wondrous virgin can produce in union with the Holy Spirit singular and wondrous things.
  3. When the Holy Spirit, her spouse, finds Mary in a soul, he hastens there and enters fully into it. He gives himself generously to that soul according to the place it has given to his spouse. One of the main reasons why the Holy Spirit does not work striking wonders in souls is that he fails to find in them a sufficiently close union with his faithful and inseparable spouse. I say “inseparable spouse”, for from the moment the substantial love of the Father and the Son espoused Mary to form Jesus, the head of the elect, and Jesus in the elect, he has never disowned her, for she has always been faithful and fruitful.
P.S. Sorry, my computer doesn’t have the accent marks for Spanish words. I took some classes in Spanish and really love the Spanish language. You do very well in your writing English than I with Spanish! 🙂

That’s not bad at all! In this case, since I’m a man, it would be “Querido Hermano”, but of course, you couldn’t know that from my post. Spanish is a very beautiful and colourful language. It can be really precise. I didn’t really like taking English at school as a kid, but over time, I discovered its beauty.

Those Montfort’s words are worth quite a few readings and some meditation. Thank you, again.

My apologies, “Querido Hermano”!!! I have a friend who was born in Cuba and I always address her in e-mails as “Querida”. Thanks for steering me in the right direction. 🙂

I sincerely pray you will persevere in asking, seeking, and knocking on the door until God opens to you intimacy with Him which He greatly desires.

@MariaChristi Thank you very much. Your prayers are very appreciated. I’ll also pray for your intentions.

I think a key turning point is being able to see, identify and own parts of ourselves that we do not like. For example, many of us can admit to being sinful. No problem as long as it is abstract 'sinful". But when someone else point out to us a shortcoming we often get defensive or become offended. I find sitting silence before God to be most helpful. It is then that we let our guard down and stand naked before our creator. Often in that silence the lord reveals something to us. But it takes a lot of patience and many of us don’t have it. I often find that I have let other trivial things have priority.

Something else that I sometimes do, if I find that the Psalms or even scripture don’t seem to do much for me I will write a prayer. That seems to help.

I’ll try to do what you suggest. I see some faults in myself, but I’m not completely sure I am prepared to look very deeply into my soul… Thank you.

Mathew 25
34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

The practical way to love God intimately.

Hello. I have a strong desire of being intimate with God, to reach contemplation in some moment of my life. How can I get to that point? What’s the path to Him? How can I completely surrender to His will?
The KEY is FAITH in JESUS… The Door to The Father…
