What is the reason behind prohibition of ordaining women in Church?

What is the reason behind prohibition of ordaining women in Church? All I could find online and in the Youcat (croatian version) is that Church considers itself obligated by the fact that Jesus only selected men for The Last Supper. However, in Galatians 3:28 it states that: “there is no more Greek or Jew,there is no more free or slave, there is no more MALE or FEMALE.You are all One in Jesus Christ”.Therefore,one might conclude that ordaining women is not in confrontation with the role of the Church. Yet, punishment for ordaining women is excommunication. Can you ,please, elaborate?
