What is the reason the Catholics here view and respond to "Mormon" topic threads?

I was just wondering why other Catholics here at CA view and respond to “Mormon” topic threads? It seems that a few are sincerely interested in intelligent exchange, and it also seems that others are here to “bash”…What brings YOU here to the Mormon topics?

The Catholic Church is apostate anyway, to their ‘DUBIUM’ is as meaningless as their “baptism” is.

I don’t know if I have actually ever postedon a Mormon thread 🤷 But Annie … your question puzzzles me …

It may be a Mormon thread but all of the threads here at CAF are threads and topics posted on a Catholic site … this site is specifically a forum for catholics to discuss many topics of interest …and mostly the catholic faith … others[non-catholics of all persuasions] are welcome here but that does not change the Catholic Nature of the site…

With that … why should anyone think that catholics would not read and post in every thread … be it a Morman, Secular or “Catholic” topic … :confused: I would expect “Catholics” to view any and/or all of the threads and post in any that catches their attention …

A question for you … that IMHO has more merit … Whay are “Mormons” visiting, viewing and posting on a “Catholic” forum site? Why are you not ceating your own MAF [Mormon Answers Forums]?

And, please note that I do not want to “Bash” anyone … it is hard to tell the tone of a post in the same manner you might a verbal conversation … but these threads can at times get people riled up :rolleyes: …

I do believe that we should be charitable and kind in our dialogues 👍

James Strang

Notice Young made certain it was understood that only after “all the rest of the children” have received the priesthood that the curse be lifted. Thank you for your answer! I know that it is a Catholic site and there are many differnt topics here. I was just curious why Catholics here seek out the LDS threads. There are more threads here at CA than anyone could answer in one day, so obviously we seek out that which interests us:) . And I am not creating a MAF (Mormon Answers Forum as you put it) mostly because I am not Mormon:D

The Mormons fascinate me, and have ever since I was in high school and a close friend of mine, who came from a broken home and was miserably unhappy, converted to the LDS church and tried to get me to convert. Even then, I immediately saw the BoM as a complete fabrication on just about every level, and I felt like they really took advantage of her. My feelings were confirmed when I saw her years later, and she told me that she really regretted what she did, and that becoming Mormon had probably ruined her youth.

What can I say? The LDS church is my pet religious fascination; having become a Christian and Catholic has only intensified that, because now I realize on how many levels the teachings of Smith and Young, etc are not only wrong but also potentially damaging to their followers’ souls. I try not to condemn individual LDS members and I of course affirm the right of people to practice their religious beliefs as long as they stay within the bounds of common decency. I do not go to LDS forums and argue religion there; I only join in discussions here.

Hi Annie 👋 Guess I should have checked your profile 😊 Sorry about that …

I have often ondered by some non - catholics come here to a Catholic site, try to convert the catholcs here and then get insulted when the folks get upset and fight back :rolleyes:

I am glad that you are not going to start a MAF, especially since you are not Mormon :rotfl:
