Another question might be why do Mormons come to a Catholic site, even if it is the ânon-Catholic religionsâ section of a Catholic site?
I agree with IBKC, I find Mormonism interesting. I personally believe the religion itself is built on nonsense and fabrication but the friends that I have that are Mormon (some of those friendships began when I was a teenager & continue to this day) are all very good people. I believe they are misguided, but that doesnât mean theyâre bad people.
Once upon a time the Mother of one of my oldest friends, the first friend I had that was Mormon, told me about a conversation she herself had had with a Catholic priest. She quoted him as saying âWell, you know, either weâre right or your right, but no one else is right.â And I believe thatâs true. Of course I believe the Catholic Church is right, otherwise I suppose Iâd be a Mormon

.
Iâve found that a lot of Mormons posting to this forum cannot answer basic questions about their religion, that I often know more about it than they do, and take any questioning of details as a personal attack. All too often everything is personalized, which is unfortunate. More productive discussions could perhaps come out of a situation where Mormons did not take questions about their religion as some sort of personal attack.
I suppose I return from time to time in hopes that someday there will be someone with whom to discuss the faith who is knowledgeable, mature, and does not personalize every exchange. All too often one or more of those elements is missing and any discussion quickly goes off-track.
