What is the sequence of events for the end times?

Is it tribulation > second coming > rapture > Christianized world > Armageddon?

Or tribulation > second coming > rapture > Armageddon > Christianized world?

Or tribulation > second coming > Christianized world > rapture > Armageddon?

Or something else?

I’m looking for the catholic view of course. I’ve already read catholic.com/library/Rapture.asp
but it still left me with the question I’ve posted.

Do we even believe that there is going to be an Armageddon?
re: Rapture

If, by Rapture, you mean being taken up into the air to meet Jesus and then being taken to Heaven, this isn’t going to happen at all.

If you mean meeting Jesus in the air and accompanying Him back to Earth, that is part of the Second Coming of Jesus.

As stated, rapture is not a belief of Catholicism. Rapture is 100% in opposition to what scripture actually says.

Any version of the end times which Catholicism may teach will not include a rapture.

Not entirely accurate bu the Tim LaHaye/Hal Lindsey version is a false doctrine. When Jesus returns we (those of us who will be alive at the time) will meet Him in the air and accompany Him back to Earth. You could, conceivably call that the Rapture. However Jesus does not come back secretly and hide us in Heaven.

I don’t believe the world will ever be majority christianized. The wheat and the weeds will grow up beside one another.
Agreed. I believe there will be a revival as part of these events but the vast majority of people are still on the wide road that leads to destruction (Matt 7:13-14).

Thanks for the responses everyone. So what about Armageddon? Do Catholics believe in this? And is this the final conclusion of life on Earth, or does it happen before Jesus comes again and Jesus then wins and then everything else happens?
Armageddon occurs before Jesus returns. Although many will die, it doesn’t wipe out life on the Earth. Besides:

Matt 24:22 And if that time had not been shortened, no human being would have survived; but shortened that time shall be, for the sake of those who are chosen. (NJB)

I don’t understand. Where would the “dead” rise from? People who have passed are in heaven, purgatory of hell. So, I’m confused.
When we die, our body becomes dirt (material corrupted).
At the 2nd coming of Jesus, He will remake our bodies, allthough our body will be etherial, unaffected by material things. It will also share joy or misery with our soul which will be reunited to the body.

Some centuries ago, some were cremating their body in disrespect to the teaching that the body would rise again from the dead as Jesus promised. However this would never stop the resurrection of the body. At that time they didn’t have knowledge of modern chemistry and other sciences.

I know. But the person I asked said, “The dead rise” not: we will be given our glorified bodies. I’m not sure what he meant.

Hi,
If you would die today and stand before God and God would ask you “Why would I let you into my Heaven?” what would you say?

Thank you!
🙂
