Had We intended to take a diversion, We could have taken it from [what is] with Us - if [indeed] We were to do so.
Muhsin Khan
Had We intended to take a pastime (i.e. a wife or a son, etc.), We could surely have taken it from Us, if We were going to do (that).
Pickthall
If We had wished to find a pastime, We could have found it in Our presence - if We ever did.
Yusuf Ali
If it had been Our wish to take (just) a pastime, We should surely have taken it from the things nearest to Us, if We would do (such a thing)!
Shakir
Had We wished to make a diversion, We would have made it from before Ourselves: by no means would We do (it).
Dr. Ghali
If We had taken to Us a diversion, We would indeed have taken it to Us from very close to Us, in case We are performing (that).
The explanation:
Had We [Allah] intended to take a pastime (i.e. a wife or a son, etc.), We could surely have taken it from Us ( We [Allah] could surely have taken from it 72 Virgins " الْحُور الْعِين " and from the Angels “الْمَلَائِكَة”), if We were going to do (that).
This Verse Also Show to us that Allah consider having and Wife or a Son as a pastime.
So Allah here is a Male.
And if he wanted a Wife he can chose it to be from the 72 virgins ( that mohammad promised his followers with) or from Angels…
And if He [Allah] wanted to chose a Son, he gonna also be an Angel…
What can we understand from this verse:
1- Allah can get marry.

2- Allah consider having a wife or a son as pastime. (Allah is a player

). Totally Irresponsible.
3- The wife of Allah could be one of the 72 Virgins, or one the the Angels. (here angels Female

)
4- The Son of Allah gonna be one of the Angels.(here angels are male

)
5- “if We [Allah] were going to do.” So until the Qu’ran was written Allah didn’t do that, but are we sure that He [Allah] won’t do it in the Future??
