We should be delighted justice is a reality, not a human convention. Why should we be afraid if we are forgiven to precisely the same extent that we forgive others? Divine justice is further evidence of divine love because it is only right and fitting that all of us get what we deserve for having caused or allowed others to suffer. Even so divine pity ensures that we also receive more than we deserve both in this life and the next…The final significance of death is the Judgment we have put off until that day.![]()
As so often Shakespeare’s words are applicable:
“It is a consummation devoutly to be wished…”
