This is a hypothetical situation, but it could happen and probably has. I’m wondering though what is the sin that is happening here? And is anybody in the right here?

Her friend was reading a post on apolitical forum and got pissed off at something the guy said, so she decided to embed the forum with a virus that would lock up the guys computer with which she targeted his IP address specifically. The idea was to punish him because she felt what he said was wrong, and locking up his computer would cost the guy hundreds of dollars in repairs.

So she was bragging to her friend about it when her friend got pissed off at her and then took a sledgehammer to the computer and smashed it to pieces. The owner of the computer who sent the virus is demanding she pay for an entirely new computer and decides to sue her. The justification used to smash the computer is exactly the same as the one the virus sender used.

Are you sure this is a hypothetical situation?

Anyway, what is the sin(s)? Try anger, revenge, pride, destruction of another’s property… I wouldn’t be suprised if there are other sins, but these are the ones which immediately came to mind.

They both were in the wrong.

Not only do I see a number of sins, I also see several crimes.

Wrath, vengeance, arrogance, hate, gross lack of charity, theft.

The crimes are serious. Internet (wire) fraud, destruction of property, possibly assault.

No one is innocent here.

For one not to see the implications of sin here would mean that some serious consceince formation is in order. Even a small child who destroys another child’s toy knows that something is wrong if not for the fact that he or she wouldn’t want their own toy broken. While this is a “hypothetical” question the answer should be quite apparent…🤷 teachccd
