Sometimes we discern and feel something before it happens. That is not related to our experiences or knowledges. Forexample sometimes when we talk about a friend soon he comes.

I understand that in this way:God had given us senses. Everything is known by God timelessly. God gives us life, mind, knowledge so sometimes one of our senses feel something(being revealed) from God eternal wisdom. (That revelation is not like kind of which revealed to prophets. There are many degrees at this)

Could this occasion be anything else?

From a biological standpoint, it may be that the brain pieces together fractions of memories and scintillas of the other senses and puts them together into something we would recognize as vague experiences, thereby giving us a sense of intuition.

There are a couple books out there that tie these things together. For example, at some point back in our past, it would have been necessary for us to recognize the signals that a saber-toothed cat was stalking us. Our brains had to sort through the stimuli to create a sensation of danger, even if we couldn’t identify a tangible sign, like a springing saber-toothed cat.

It would be my assumption that over time the need for those skills became less and less important, and more important tasks took their place. For example, it became more important to know how to tame a horse, or bake a loaf or bread, or analyze radar data from the southern Indian Ocean.

However, there are still vestiges of that ability to make connections in the wiring of our brains. Clearly, we’re created as God intended us to be.

A person has 5 senses.

Some people like to pretend that Spirituality (or telepathy, or other ESP stuff) is a separate sense.
To them . . . POOF, it’s a 6th sense (at least for them).

Spirituality is not a sense, it is a Feeling of something MORE (or different) than what is normally here on Earth.
Labels do not mean much (if anything at all).
Whatever that state of consciousness is . . . it seems attached to something Out of this World.

This means, that if a person claims to be Psychic, that is a state of mind.
That person plays with his Spirituality, and feels that he has received Insight from beyond (or, Power from beyond).
But, communicating with the “Other World” (if that is indeed what occurs), is NOT another sense.
And, in he case of Psychics, the Other World is the realm of Satan and his angels (according to the Church).

Prayer is the Christian way to communicate with the Other World (that Christians call Heaven).
But, God can give us insight, or understanding, or a feeling that the phone might ring.
Some days, I have time where I feel like I am being led by God, knowing exactly what I want to do, and those things work out wonderfully well.
And, once in a while, I feel that God has a Choke Chain around my neck, and is solidly guiding me in a particular Path.
Spirituality is an Out-of-This-World experience.
Thanks God, for allowing me to feel Spiritual.

So, is that feeling sent down from Heaven?
Who knows for sure?
But, that is what I believe.

A person has 5 senses.
In fact, there are six bodily senses, and unconnected with premonition or any of the psychic stuff.

The sixth is kinesthesia, or muscular proprioception; which enables us to feel movement and to know the position of our limbs without having to see them.

Whether the psychic stuff constitutes a human sense is IMNAAHO an open question.

ICXC NIKA.

Depending on the person counting, there are between twelve and twenty senses, like the sense of heat, or balance. Five was just an easy memory tool to know the basics.

I too have my doubts about the ESP stuff, yet I agree, the jury is still out.

Simply put, I believe the Sixth Sense is a form of intuition at the simplest level and actual ESP at the extreme level. Within the function of this sense is the mind and soul, spiritual and/or paranormal experiences, purely psychological events and time when it is understood as something more than a linear event.

Some examples: I get a gut feeling I need to call my dad. Intuition here. When I call I find out he is sick and needs help getting to the doctor. Or, a mother that knows one of her children is in trouble at school, and a few minutes later the phone rings and the school has called to report the little one’s misbehavior.

ESP: I have a dream that my dad and mother will be in a car accident on a Wednesday in May, and that it will be the 15th of the month, at the intersection of A vs B. The other car is a Yellow Cab. (I just made this up to show detail of the dream.) Boom! On the 15th of may they are in an accident with a Yellow Cab on the intersection I saw in my dream. This is actually a case of ESP and time intersection. (Future with the present during the dream.) This has actually happened to me many times in life, and is common for my sister to experience. My dad also does this and his mother used to. She often dreamed about people dying, how they would die, what day and who would show up at their home, what the weather was like. And no folks it was not evil or a form of black magic. Just a gift, a certain ability.

So anyway, depending on family history, environment and the gifts God gives us we probably all have a Sixth Sense at some level, but have learned to ignore it.

Good one. Because if you damage the nerves in a limb, like sprain your ankle several times, it becomes more likely you will sprain it again because you damage the ankle’s proprioceptive sense of where it is in space, therefore increasing the likelihood of stepping wrong.

In a word isn’t perception the “sixth sense”?

rex

God is the sixth sense, but we are usually unable to perceive Him.

[This world] is the lowest in degree; there is none lower than it in terms of concealment of His light and no world compares with it for doubled and redoubled darkness; nowhere is G d’s light hidden as in this world.
