“I was in prayer: it was evening…” (The Annunciation of the Lord to Mary, 1st Joyful Mystery, catholic.org/prayers/mystery.php?id=1 ). What is the source of the text?
Do you mean “is it scriptural” or something similar? It appears to be a meditation someone has written based on the beginning of Luke and Matthew’s Gospels to me, but that is just a guess.

The tradition of the Church is that since she had gone to the well when Gabriel appeared to her, it would have been in the morning.

Here Holy Mary is speaking about herself. Who was listening? To whom She was speaking? Who wrote the full text down?

This is a private meditation that someone wrote, imagining what Mary might have experienced at the Annunciation. This is one of the ways we meditate on Scripture: to imagine ourselves in the scene and imagine what might have taken place. We have no reason to believe anyone else was present at the Annunciation; Mary did not dictate this text to anyone.

I did a quick search and found this same meditation on at least six websites on the internet. None of the websites lists an author. The closest I can come is this one: christusrex.org/www1/CDHN/p5.html which suggests that the source is:
The Catholic Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle
A Catholic Prayer Book and Study Guide
Other contents of the book are indexed here: christusrex.org/www1/CDHN/pbconts.html
