Shlomo lkhulkhun,

As I was working on studying for my Western Civ. class I began perusing OrthodoxWiki. I wanted to learn more about the Council of Chalcedon, what caused the split and why it lasted so long. I then came across this article on the Wiki. I now understand that it was a misconception of terminology that linguistics barriers played a major role. The split should never have occurred.

So, I am curious what the status is with reunion. It seems to me that the Byzantine Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox are closer to re-uniting than the Catholic Church and Byzantine Orthodox are. Yet, the Catholic Church and Syriac Orthodox Church have a “Common Christological Document” or something to that effect. I am very confused and perhaps out of touch with the current progression of re-Communion.

Anyone with insights, please feel free to share them.🙂

Alloho minokhoun,
Andrew
