St. Padre Pio — ‘My past, O Lord, to Your mercy; my present, to Your love; my future to Your providence.’
Yes I reread my post. You only focused on one line. I asked for prayers, strength and guidance. The only thing you seemed to focus on is how I wrote that forgiveness honestly takes time which is a fair statement. Some things are petty and can be easily overlooked. You focused on one wrong thing I stated. Honestly is forgiveness truly that easy for anyone. You missed the entire point of my post. I am not upset but perhaps you do have a tendency to focus on the worse in people. That statement could be interpreted in many ways yet you choose to believe I was neglecting my responsibility. I do not see how I implied that in anyway. I do not understand.I guess you just don’t read your posts before you submit them. You have no idea how you sound. Nothing I said was uncharitable.
I was in a terribly abusive marriage for YEARS.He threatened to kill us all.
I know something about forgiveness.
You have just proven why anonymous internet posting is wrong for some people.
If you cannot take advice in the spirit in which it is given, in response to what you clearly have posted now, and given your posting history, …well…
Growth will come from addressing that.
There is a prayer intention forum if you don’t really want comments. Posting angry isn’t productive.
I will stop responding. It never seems to sink in anyway.
Look a real life Spiritual Director if your issues are that severe. Again, just responding to what you post here.
We are ALL equal in God’s eyes and all sinners. Not everything is as it seems…everyone has their own crosses to bear in this life but we just have to get on with it. Also various sin which we are trying to overcome. Know one knows or understands us better than God. I wasn’t in a great place a few years back and was struggling terribly with OCD/anxiety and one day I was really bad with anxiety I didn’t want to get out of bed but I decided I’m not going to give up and I went to the nearest Catholic Church and I knelt down before Jesus and I literally poured my heart out to him to the point I was in tears. I could feel an overwhelming feeling come over me as if I was being comforted like Jesus was telling me everything will be ok. To cut a long story short because I turned to Jesus and His Mother they helped me get through it. Nothing is impossible to God…ask Him to help you and I guarantee you He will without fail. His love for you has no words.I have always been one to dwell in the past the could have, should have. I need to learn to let what people have done to me go. I need to stop comparing my sins to others. I am ashamed of my sins mostly because others can see them not because of God. I want to perfect but I cannot in NY own efforts that frustrates me so I am not welcoming of spiritual correction. I guess I am asking here. Some people seem to have it all put together and their sins or failings are not quite as transparent or apparent as mine (sin of vanity). Lord help me.
I do not post without reading all posts in a thread actually. It is your habit to lash out at anyone that does not tell you what you want to hear. I am sorry if you did not like what I said. That is your perogative. But when you post on a public forum, you don’t get to decide what people say. You don’t get to control their responses to you. No one was uncharitable to you. Please do not give advice if you are unwilling to read my entire post or consider the possible sincerity in it. God bless you.
uh no. This was not written to you. Tell me what I want to hear. I am just pointing on some people misinterpret my post. As for lashing out, ok. This is why I should quit asking for advice or talk to people in person who know me and see my facial expressions and tone. I just do not understand how this turned into me letting myself off easy. Be assured, in the future, I will not try to help you. You are unable to handle the truth of what people say or you don’t understand and you are not very kind in response.
You might try posting in the correct forum, **prayer intentions ** if you want prayers for all of your problems, without suggestions or constructive criticism.
No need to respond, I will put you on ignore.
It only takes a moment to forgive but it may take a lifetime to forget. But if we drag those memories around with us and relive them over and over, we are only hurting ourselves. They can effect our attitude towards others. Whenever they pop into my memory, I say, “Jesus I trust in YOU”!! Or say a Hail Mary. My Spiritual Director, Fr. Hahn, said to pray for them too. It’s hard to hate someone your praying for. I also love the prayer," God, grant me the serenity to change the things I can, to accept the things I cannot change and the wisdom to know the difference." I think Pianistclare was giving you good advice. God Bless, MemawYes I reread my post. You only focused on one line. I asked for prayers, strength and guidance. Show me in here where you asked for our prayers! You did say you were not welcoming of spiritual direction. Maybe that is your real problem. Many mixed feelings in your post. I think only a priest Spiritual Director can help you. Or a good Catholic Councilor. God Bless, MemawI have always been one to dwell in the past the could have, should have. I do not think I know the difference between forgiveness and well forgetting. I did not mean to say I will get around to it. My other post I changed my mind saying something about some things are better left to confessors. I see where she is coming from but she did ignore other parts of my post. Misinterpretation are part of texting or not talking in person. I am sorry for being rude but I still think she took one ambiguous statement I said and jumped on it. Other people did not respond that way. If she knows my posting history, why bother with another thread? Oh Lord this is so juvenile. God bless.Show me in here where you asked for our prayers!
