It’s complicated. And immense. Some of it is Halachic (legal) and some of it is narrative. What I like most of all is the commentary on the commentary on the commentary. There are schools of interpretation and they are all recorded. Rabbi so-and-so says this but Rabbi so-and-so says that, and you learn both/all the sides.

Have you ever seen a page of Talmud? Talmudic scholars spend their whole lives studying these holy texts.
