Hello readers
Is the teaching behind these parables is about: God will always forgive us if we repent?

The lost sheep,
Lost coin and
The prodigal son

God bless you

and also that He reaches to us when we sin, to bring us back to repentance

it shows how much God loves us 🙂

God bless

God loves us so much that we are the most important thing to Him. If we go astray, He is willing to drop everything and bring us back to His love. Nothing brings Him greater joy.

A good priest pointed this out in a homily.

Luke starts out with the lost sheep and lost coin to point out what people would celebrate. When he looses a sheep and later finds it, it’s a celebration. Same thing with a coin, and the people of the day would have got that right away. Then Luke has the Prodigal son to progress the idea that if we celebrate found sheep and finding a coin, then we should also celebrate a lost son coming back. That is why they’re together.

The prodigal son holds the major message, which is that God is always waiting for us with open arms. God is out looking for us. It also points out our need to look for God; He is waiting for us but ultimately we have to make the decision to find Him.
