For a different take on the familiar Dies Irae chant, I can’t recommend this video enough. Liszt borrowed the main theme for his Totentanz, and when Valentina Lisitsa plays it…mind blowing haha

Hey I’m just glad there are still people around who can play some of ‘Abbé’ Liszt’s more ambitious pieces. I’m convinced that Valentina is one of the best pianists alive today. Can’t go wrong with that combo.
