Chapter 2: In the fields the Voice cometh
  1. Here followeth the second chapter of this script.
  2. The cold of night came and the darkness covered the land and he began the counted of the stairs of the sky. And The voice of my Vision retuned to me saying:
  3. Hear yea son of David before I leave thee tonight I will test thou Faith in the Lord.
  4. Each of those Stars you hath counted, wouldn’t they surely not equal the sins of this world. Nay, only a fool would agree to this, no it is not true. The sum of the stairs would not even equal one-tenth the sins of one man alone. One mans sin therefore must number then, ten fold of all the stairs of the sky…he who has not repented for his iniquities…….
  5. And I say if one man hath sinned and not repented to the faithful, how much sin has gone uncounted in all of the peoples of this World, for my people have turned away from their God
  6. You son of David are to go forth across this land and admonish the sinner with instruction and praise the righteous with affection; For the Righteous hath Love of the Lord and shalt be blessed in all his goodness.
  7. For to have Love of the Lord is to be worthy of His eternal Salvation
  8. He who upholds the Law of the Voice shalt be good in heart and of health, and the Voice will grant to you his peace, for of the peace, he is the Prince.
  9. This is what the Voice said to me: Hath Faith in the Lord and you shalt reciveth what thou need… in your time. Because thou hath had Faith I shall watch over you tonight.
Chapter 3…??
15. You idle people resentment will get you nowhere for resentment kills the senseless. The people they great each other with gestures of good will, whilst behind their backs they stand holding a knife poised like a viper ready to strike. Beware of false friends……….
32. The people let their passions govern them; and they are lead by their desires. They make no attempt at restraint or repentance and mock the Voice’s teachings. They indulge in luxurious living and are drunken on wine and women see then the customers of whores.

Its not all here obviously but i put in the bits which I thought where most interesting.

How about the book of Mormon? I started reading one in a hotel room once,
and it sounded kooky, just like this.

I tried a word search on the book text as published on the Mormon website and the search engine reported that the words “admonish the sinner” do not appear anywhere in the text. Good guess, though.

It also doesn’t appear to come up in any of the pseudoepigrapha that are on the web.

Sadly the OP doesn’t seem to want to tell us . . . 😦

Apparently something called the “Book of Damnum”. Someone named “newport” on a different forum posted a nearly identical passage in March 2008 claiming to have found it in a school book: here.

Someone named peter_newport2003 posted the same passage on answers.yahoo at about the same time: here.

Those are the only decent hits on Google or Yahoo, so I’m leaning towards it not being real, but wouldn’t object to being proven wrong. 🤷
