Oh. I’m so confused. Some antipopes told me that Pope Francis is Satanic 😥 He arbitrarily changed the Cross.

Oh, he didn’t arbitrarily change the cross. Nothing about this that makes him Satanic or anything. Just a weird cross to carry. Usually I think there is an image of Christ on the cross.

It simply looks like an artistic, stylized Tau cross to me. Pope Francis has been associated with a number of crosses and I do not see anything evil or Satanic about any of them.

Unfortunately, people are always using any artistic change in the cross or crucifix as some reason to see Satanic this and that. I was reading yesterday abut the controversies with Y shaped crosses in the 1300s like the Conyhope Cross. It’s all a lot of Catholic bashing nonsense.

Don’t listen to people who hate the Pope. Pray for the Holy Father and his intentions instead.

Personally, I prefer to keep the corpus on the cross. However, I agree that it looks like an artistic Tau style.

Each Pope selects the Cross ( I forget the liturgical term at the moment) that represents his pontificate.
Early on, Francis chose one with the Good Shepherd and sheep on it.
There was another, given as a GIFT by a very famous artist in Italy, that no one cared for.
He gets many of these gifts. Out of respect he occasionally uses one of these others.
HE IS NOT CHANGING THE CRUCIFIX.
These are artistic renderings.
Notice hardly two parishes have the identical Crucifix in their sanctuaries.
They have very similar elements, but they are not uniform or identical.
Some parishes have a Risen Christ on the Cross, my former parish had with a large pure white corpus on the cross, this parish where I work now has a carved wood, no colors painted one.
They are all fine, and purely a matter of taste.
I rather like the abstract one. It’s fine People just want to be critical.
Do no chime in or give straction to Pope detractors.

Could you tell us where you found this picture? I’m trying to find out the name of this cross but can’t find a link online.

He used it for the Corpus Christi Mass in Rome at St. John Lateran June 2017

There is a woman named Mary Carberry established The Book Of Truth, Prepare For The Second Coming. (She said that God revealed her about the end of the world and the second coming of Jesus Christ and God told her that Popes were Satanic). And ones believing her becomes antipope and anti-church. They told that everyone must have a living seal of God.

Me and another guy posted the link above with info about this cross. The technical term for the stick with cross on it that Popes carry is the ferula. Sometimes called a crozier, but technically i think a crozier has to have a hook at the top like what bishops have. Pope Francis has mostly used the ferulas previously used by Pope Benedict and Pope JPII.

If you want to see where a picture comes from, Google Image Search is a good resource.

NO NO NO.
Do not listen to this nonsense. You are being deceived.

Right. It’s a ferula. Crozier is a Bishop’s staff. And crooked at the top. yes!

Thank you. I don’t listen to what they said. I just wonder what this kind of Cross is.

The same picture is on about 15 other ridiculous nonsense Pope-bashing articles. They must think the cross looks scary. Silliness.

Obviously it was just meant to be a light, portable, sustainable cross made from recycled materials, probably to honor the Pope’s commitment to the environment.
