Christ told Pilate before His crucifixion He is truth.
We have to look at creation. Everything in nature passes away or changes. Even most advance science, studying just one topic, discovers endless discoveries.
Truth is constant and does not change. Truth has moral value.
Truth is value and gives meaning to life. Without truth, life has no meaning, no purpose.
St. Thomas Aquinas stated that he could prove God existed through philosophy, outside human reflection on reason and nature. St. Thomas used Aristotle’s Cause and Effect.
We believe that creation was created by God. So God is outside time and space.
And thus, God created space and time itself. God is the Cause and the world, its Effect. God Is the Unmoved Mover.
St. Thomas said the knowledge of man about God is like the eye of an owl next to the sun…and we know the eye of the owl only works in darkness.
So God does not move. He creates and He gives value and purpose. But without someone or something outside Himself…plants, rocks, animals cannot return comprehension of God through observation and reason.
So God created man who was blessed with free will, intellect, and reason. But man is a creature. And man can only perceive purpose and being outside of himself because he is finite. And man sinned with the Fall of Adam and Eve. God alone can give reason and purpose to life.
God had to create morality. And He gave Moses the 10 commandments, the Law of life. Man had sinned, our original parents.
Yet even with the 10 commandments, it is written that the people had fallen into idolatry while Moses was with the Lord and receiving the 10 commandments. Even with the Law of morals, you cannot find any human being living the 10 commandments perfectly. It is said the just man sins seven times a day.
So where can we find truth?
We find what Truth is in the words of Jesus. Jesus is the Man of Redemption, the Son of God through the Holy Spirit and Mary who gave Him His humanity. Jesus is the only perfect Person Who lives perfectly and without sin, and is Divine, Who does not change.
With God all things are possible. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one. This is our gift as believers in God is that when we believe, we enter into communion with God, and more so with neighbor…Jesus said He is the face of God.
It is Jesus Who restored our fallen humanity and makes us presentable to the Father. It is Jesus Who is truth, Who is living morality, Who is the fulfillment of the Law, Who is our Eucharist…taking the place of the apple offered by Satan to eat and become like the gods.
Adam and Eve never bothered to eat of one tree they could eat, the only one named in Genesis, the Tree of Life, the Lord naming it and saying they could eat of it. Instead they wanted to be creators through Knowledge of Good and Evil.,…
The fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.,…to become as gods…makes people instead want to be gods…and give them the unwarranted and Satanic inspired belief they can do as they please…they can decide to hate, steal, lie cheat, and kill, thinking they are in truth when in fact they are living a lie…wanting to be as God, but in reality, not giving life like only God can give, but thinking they are gods deciding who can live and who can die, for whatever the reason.
Truth gives us life.
The Lie makes us think we are as gods and we can kill and steal and take over, and lord ourselves over other people…this is the kingdom of Satan.
Only Jesus Christ can bring us into His kingdom of eternal life now. As Adam and Eve had to die to themselves for their sins, so we must die to ourselves so the new life of Christ can enter.
